Shalini Kumar, Editor – Spiritz

After putting in about three decades in journalism covering a wide range of media organisations from TV channels to Magazines and Newspapers, she is co-founder of and presently working as an Editor of a niche magazine for Alcobev & Hospitality sectors, called Spiritz

She has been instrumental in creating a few event Ips like Spiritz Conclave & Achievers’ Awards, Madhu Mandapam – an exclusive alcobev experience, Single Malt Saga, BigTap Fest, etc. 

Before joining this magazine, she worked as Consulting Editor of monthly Corporate Lifestyle magazine Dash and in-flight magazine for MDLR airlines Hi Flyers’ Diary, published from Delhi. 

Earlier she worked as an Associate Editor of a magazine on Biotechnology called Biotech World, published from Ahmedabad. She also worked for a TV news bulletin ‘Rozana’ on DD News and wrote articles for couple of magazines and newspapers including Hard News, Dainik Jagran and Rashtriya Sahara. She covered not only political events and dated-stories but done real good off beat stories as well. 

Having a flair for writing and designing, she wrote and designed books, booklets, brochures, workshop material and annual reports etc for many reputed organisations like 

Gujarat State Forest department, Gujarat State financial corporation (GSFC), Water and Sanitation management organisation (WASMO), Gujarat Ecological Education & Research Foundation (GEER), Gujarat National Law University (GNLU), etc. 

Apart from writing, she also made a few documentaries including one on Dandi yatra for Gujarat Government. Now, Spiritz has an exclusive partnership as ‘Knowledge Partner’ with News9 Plus – OTT platform for producing programmes related to Alcobev & hospitality industry. Spiritz has taken stakes in Livecheers.com almost a year back. Livcheers is an exclusive platform for alcobev consumers and has 3 million visitors/per month.

She is also on the advisory board of a few alcobev companies in India.

Last year, she was recognised and inducted in the exclusive group of Keepers of Quaich. It’s a great honour as there are approximately 3093 Keepers across the globe. ‘Keepers of Quaich’ – an exclusive international society headquartered in Edinburgh to recognise reward and celebrate those who have shown outstanding commitment to the Scotch Whisky Industry.

Hailing from Lucknow and graduated from Delhi University with English, Hindi and Sanskrit literatures (securing third position in the University), writing gives her satisfaction.
